Ján Bátik
Ján Bátik (born 17 January 1986 in Liptovský Mikuláš) is a retired Slovak slalom canoeist who competed at the international level from 2002 to 2018. He competed in the C1 event until 2005. He raced in the C2 event together with Tomáš Kučera from 2006 until 2018, when the discipline was discontinued. He also competed in the mixed C2 event alongside Soňa Stanovská in 2017 and 2018. Bátik won five medals in the C2 team event at the ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships with a gold (2009), three silvers ( 2011, 2013, 2014) and a bronze (2007). He also won 4 golds and 2 bronzes at the European Championships The European Championships is a multi-sport tournament which brings together the existing European Championships of some of the continent's leading sports every four years. Canoe Slalom
Canoe slalom (previously known as whitewater slalom) is a competitive sport with the aim to navigate a decked canoe or kayak through a course of hanging downstream or upstream gates on river rapids in the fastest time possible. It is one of the two kayak and canoeing disciplines at the Summer Olympics, and is referred to by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as Canoe/Kayak Slalom. ICF World Junior And U23 Canoe Slalom Championships
The ICF World Junior and U23 Canoe Slalom Championships are an annual international canoeing and kayaking event organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). The Junior World Championships were first held in 1986 and then every two years until 2012. The Under-23 category has been added to the program in 2012. Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course
The Ondrej Cibak Whitewater Slalom Course, in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia, is the world's second-oldest artificial whitewater venue for international canoe slalom competition, after the Augsburg Eiskanal. Built in 1978, it diverts water around a small dam on the Váh river. With recent upgrades, including a covered stadium for spectators, it remains a prime site for the sport. 2018 Canoe Slalom World Cup
The 2018 Canoe Slalom World Cup was a series of five races in 5 canoeing and kayaking categories organized by the International Canoe Federation (ICF). It was the 31st edition. The men's C2 event was removed from the World Cup program before the start of the season by the ICF and was replaced by the mixed C2 event. This was the first season when points were awarded also for the Extreme K1 events. Calendar The series opened with World Cup Race 1 in Liptovský Mikuláš, Slovakia (22–24 June) and ended with the World Cup Final in La Seu d'Urgell, Spain (7–9 September) for the traditional canoe slalom events. Soňa Stanovská (born 27 February 2000) is a Slovak slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2015. She competes in C1 and K1 individually, as well as in Mixed C2 with Ján Bátik She won a bronze medal in the K1 team event at the 2021 World Championships in Bratislava. She also won a gold medal in the C1 team event at the 2022 European Championships in Liptovský Mikuláš.
