Jyotirmoy Barua
Jyotirmoy Barua is a Bangladeshi lawyer and human rights activist. Early life Barua was born on 16 September 1976 in Cox's Bazar District, Bangladesh. He has two bachelors in law, one from the University of Calcutta and another from the Northumbria University. Career Barua is a member of the Dhaka Bar Association, Cox’s Bazar Bar Association, and South Asians for Human Rights. He is a legal advisor of the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust. He filed a petition with the High Court Division questioning the lack of action by police during the 2012 Ramu violence. He represented Adhikari Shuvo and Rasel Parvez, bloggers who had been charged with hurting religious sentiments in 2013. Barua accused law enforcement agencies of killing people extra-judicially in anti-terrorism operations after the 2016 Dhaka attack. Cox's Bazar District
Cox's Bazar District () is a district in the Chittagong Division of Bangladesh. It is named after Cox's Bazar town. It is located south of Chittagong. Cox's Bazar is also known by the names ''Panowa'' ("yellow flower") and ''Palongkee''. The modern Cox's Bazar derives its name from Captain Hiram Cox (died 1799), an army officer who served in British India. It is one of the fishing ports of Bangladesh, and contains one of the world's longest natural sea beaches ( long including mud flats). Zillur Rahman (journalist)
Zillur Rahman is a Bangladeshi journalist and activist. He is the executive director of the Center for Governance Studies and host of Tritiyo Matra. Early life Rahman was born in Dhaka. His father A K M Khalilur Rahman was a lawyer, and his mother Shamim Parvin was a housewife. He graduated from Nawabpur Government High School. He completed his undergrad and a Post Graduated Degree in governance and politics at Jahangirnagar University. Career Rahman joined the weekly ''Bichitra'' in 1986. He became the executive editor of the Khaborer Kagoj in 1987. He joined the Ajker Kagoj in 1991 as an assistant editor and then Bhorer Kagoj next year. The Detective Branch (; abbreviated as DB) is a specialized unit of the Bangladesh Police. It mostly deals with investigative activities and special operations in sensitive cases and places.
