Justin Harper (basketball)
Justin Harper (born August 30, 1989) is an American professional basketball player who last played for Fighting Eagles Nagoya of the Japanese B. League. Harper played professionally in the NBA for various teams, including the Orlando Magic, Detroit Pistons, and Philadelphia 76ers. He played college basketball for the University of Richmond. College career As a senior with Richmond, Harper averaged 17.9 points and 6.9 rebounds while shooting 53 percent from the field, and he was named to the first-team All-Atlantic 10, along with teammate Kevin Anderson. Harper was recognized as an All-Fourth District first-team selection by the National Association of Basketball Coaches. 2011 NBA Lockout
The 2011 NBA lockout was the fourth and most recent lockout in the history of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Team owners began the work stoppage upon expiration of the 2005 collective bargaining agreement (CBA). The 161-day lockout began on July 1, 2011, and ended on December 8, 2011. It delayed the start of the from November to December, and it reduced the regular season from 82 to 66 games. The previous lockout in 1998–99 had shortened the season to 50 games. The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), headquartered in Kansas City, Missouri, is an American organization of men's college basketball coaches. It was founded in 1927 by Phog Allen, the men's basketball head coach for the University of Kansas. Formation of the NABC began when Joint Basketball Rules Committee, then the central governing authority of the game, announced without notice that it had adopted a change in the rules which virtually eliminated dribbling. Allen, a student of basketball founder James Naismith, organized a nationwide protest which ultimately resulted in the dribble remaining part of the game. In 1939, the NABC held the first national basketball tournament in Evanston, Illinois at the Northwestern Fieldhouse. Oregon defeated Ohio State for the first tournament championship. Kevin Anderson Jr. (born December 21, 1988) is an American former basketball coach and professional player. His last major coaching role was as director of player development for the Liberty Flames. He played college basketball for the University of Richmond. High school career For his first three-years of high school, Anderson attended Whitefield Academy in Mableton, Georgia where he helped them to the state finals in 2005 and 2006. For his senior year, he transferred to Peachtree Ridge High School in Suwanee, Georgia where he led them to a 27–4 record and Georgia Elite Eight appearance.
