Jurijs Ševļakovs
Jurijs Ševļakovs (born 24 January 1959 in Moscow, Soviet Union) is a former Latvian football defender, now a football manager. Club playing career His player career began in PFC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow where he played a couple of games in the reserves team but could not achieve more and left Moscow. In 1981, he joined his first senior team - Chernomorets Novorossiysk, Cement Novorossiysk. After one year in Novorossiysk Ševļakovs moved to FC Daugava Riga, FK Daugava Rīga where he played until 1990 making more than 330 appearances for the club. In 1991, he went to his first team outside the former USSR - Ilves in Finland. After three seasons in Finland he returned to Latvia and joined the strongest Latvian team at the time - FC Skonto and won the gold of Virslīga four times in a row. The Latvian Football Cup () is the main knockout cup competition in Latvian football. Since 2021, its full name is Responsible Gaming Latvian Football Cup (''Atbildīgas spēles Latvijas kauss'') due to the sponsorship by sports betting company William Hill. The tournament was launched in 1937, replacing the previous knockout tournament – the Riga Football Cup. The competition is a knockout (single elimination) tournament. From 1937 to 2008 and again since 2017, all of the games of the tournament are played within the calendar year. During the Soviet occupation ( 1940–1941, 1944–1991) it served as a qualification tournament for the Soviet Cup.
