Juno Awards Of 1993
The Juno Awards of 1993, representing Canadian music industry achievements of the previous year, were awarded on 21 March 1993 in Toronto at a ceremony in the O'Keefe Centre. Celine Dion was the host for the ceremonies, which were broadcast on CBC Television at 8 pm Toronto time. This year, all performers at the ceremonies would be Canadians, in contrast to some ceremonies in previous years. Nominations were announced 9 February 1993. Celine Dion received 7 nominations, tying the record set by Bryan Adams at the 1992 awards. Bryan Adams and Tom Cochrane were prominent male nominees this year. Hummingbird Centre
Meridian Hall is a performing arts venue in Toronto, Ontario, and it is the largest soft-seat theatre in Canada. The facility was constructed for the City of Toronto municipal government and is currently managed by TO Live, an Arm's length body, arm's-length agency and Charitable organization (Canada), registered charity created by the city. Located at 1 Front Street (Toronto), Front Street East, the venue opened as the O'Keefe Centre on October 1, 1960. Michelle Wright (born July 1, 1961) is a Canadian country music artist. She won the Canadian Country Music Association's Fans' Choice Award twice (1993 and 1995). The Juno Award for Breakthrough Artist of the Year is an annual award given by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences to the best new musician in Canada. The award has been given since 1974, when it was originally divided into separate awards for men and women under the names Most Promising Female Vocalist of the Year and Most Promising Male Vocalist of the Year. These two awards were merged in 1994 into Best New Solo Artist, which was then changed to New Artist of the Year in 2003, and finally changed to its current title beginning in 2013. Joseph Kim Mitchell (born July 10, 1952) is a Canadian rock musician. He was the lead singer and guitarist for the band Max Webster before going on to a solo career.
