Julio César Pereyra (born 1951 in Gualeguaychú) is the mayor of Florencio Varela, Buenos Aires, Argentina (since 2003). He is a member of the Justicialist Party and a strong supporter of President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner. He is president of the Federation of Argentine Municipalities (FAM) since 2003 and the Federation of Latin American Cities, Municipalities and Associations (FLACMA) since 2005. Julio Cesar Pereira is an 8th degree red and white belt coral belt Brazilian jiu-jitsu (BJJ) practitioner from Brazil. An international master champion, two-time IBJJF World champion, two-times Pan American champion, eight-times Brazilian champion and 21 times champion of Rio de Janeiro State; Pereira is a renowned coach as the founder and team leader of GFTeam, one of the most accomplished competition teams in jiu-jitsu. The Justicialist Party (, ; abbr. PJ) is a major political party in Argentina, and the largest branch within Peronism. Following the 2023 presidential election, it has been the largest party in the opposition against President Javier Milei.
