Emanuel Steward
Emanuel "Manny" Steward (July 7, 1944 – October 25, 2012) was an American boxer, trainer, and commentator for HBO Boxing. Known as "the godfather of Detroit boxing," Steward trained 41 world champion fighters throughout his career, most notably Thomas Hearns, through the famous Kronk Gym and later heavyweights Lennox Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko. Emanuel trained over two dozen boxers who turned out to be champions in the course of his career. His heavyweight fighters had a combined record of 34–2–1 in title fights. He was an inductee of the International Boxing Hall Of Fame, and the World Boxing Hall of Fame. Steward was also known for his charity work in Detroit, Michigan, helping youth to attain an education. Freddie Pendleton (born January 5, 1963) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1981 to 2001. Biography Pendleton won his first title in October 1985 knocking out Darryl Martin (9-2) in the 6th round earning him the Pennsylvania State light welterweight title. In March 1986, "Fearless", who was (14-13) at the time, took on Roger Mayweather (23-3) at the Sahara Hotel in Las Vegas, Nevada. He knocked out Roger in the 6th round for a TKO win. Vincent Pettway (born November 9, 1965) is an American former professional boxer who competed from 1984 to 2001, holding the IBF light middleweight title from 1994 to 1995. Gabriel Ruelas, (born on July 23, 1970, in Yerbabuena, Jalisco, Mexico), is a Mexican former professional boxer who held the WBC Super Featherweight world championship from 1994 to 1995.
