"''Jul, jul, strålande jul''" is a Christmas song with lyrics written by Edvard Evers and music composed by Gustaf Nordqvist. It was published in 1921. The song has been subject to many interpretations in Sweden, other Scandinavian countries and internationally by singers, choirs and orchestras. It was first published by music publisher Abraham Lundquist AB. The song was one of the most common Christmas carols in Sweden during the 20th century. The lyrics describe Christmas as white, then snow-filled, and depict the rest of Christmas blessings with a wish that Christmas brings light and peace. The first known recording of the song dates back to 1924 (in Swedish) with Strandbergs kvartett, as B-side of the single "Hosianna". Karl Göran Gustav Lindberg (born 25 April 1946, in Uppsala) is a Swedish convicted serial rapist and a former police chief. He effectively served 2/3rd of a six-year prison sentence in Saltvik Prison for numerous sex crimes. Career in the police He completed his law degree in 1972, and served as rector of the Swedish National Police Academy 1989–1997, and as police commissioner in Uppsala County 1997–2006. After stepping down as police commissioner, he was an adviser on gender equality and sexual harassment to the National Police Directorate. Criminal conviction He was arrested on 25 January 2010 and charged with multiple sex offenses, including the rape of a 14-year-old child. He was subsequently also charged with raping several other women, and of procuring. On 30 July 2010, he was convicted of several sex offenses, including rape, and sentenced to 6.5 years in prison by the Södertörn District Court. Maybebop
Maybebop is a German male a cappella quartet consisting of founding member Oliver Gies, Jan Malte Bürger, Lukas Teske and Christoph Hiller. The group sings predominantly German-language self-compositions, although it has released cover versions of rock hits such as "Nothing Else Matters", "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and "Bohemian Rhapsody". In addition, the group has released jazz adaptations of folk and Christmas songs like "Abendlied", "Die Gedanken sind frei" and " Still, still, still". Band members Oliver Gies Oliver Gies (born 30 May 1973 in Walsrode) studied mathematics and music with an emphasis on singing and completed his studies with a major in composition and arrangement. Gies lives with his family in Hanover. He sings baritone and is the only founding member who is still part of the group.
