Juan De Dios Román
Juan de Dios Román Seco (17 December 1942 – 28 November 2020) was a Spanish handball coach. He served as coach for the Spain men's national handball team from 1985 to 1988 and again from 1995 to 2000. He was President of the Royal Spanish Handball Federation from 2008 to 2013. Mérida, Spain
Mérida () is a city and Municipalities of Spain, municipality of Spain, part of the Province of Badajoz, and capital of the autonomous community of Extremadura. Located in the western-central part of the Iberian Peninsula at 217 metres above sea level, the city is crossed by the Guadiana and Albarregas rivers. The population was 60,119 in 2017. Etymology The place name of ''Mérida'' derives from the Latin ''Emerita'', with a meaning of ''retired'' or ''veteran''. European Men's Handball Championship
The European Men's Handball Championship is the official competition for senior men's national handball teams of Europe and takes place every two years since 1994, in the even-numbered year between the World Championship. In addition to crowning the European champions, the tournament also serves as a qualifying tournament for the Olympic Games and World Championship.
