Juan Alberto Díaz
Juan Alberto Díaz Rodríguez (born November 8, 1985, in San Salvador, El Salvador) is a Salvadoran footballer. Club career Díaz learned his trade at the José Luis Rugamas football school where he started playing when 8 years of age. He made his professional debut ten years later in 2003 with third division side Vendaval, then moved to giants FAS. He had a short spell at San Salvador before joining hometown club Nejapa. Another short stay at second division Marte Soyapango followed and he most recently played for Atlético Balboa. International career He made his debut for El Salvador in a November 2006 friendly match against Bolivia and has earned a total of 9 caps, scoring 1 goal. Nejapa
Nejapa is a district in the San Salvador department of El Salvador. It is part of the San Salvador metropolitan area. Traditions Las Bolas De Fuego One of the major traditions of Nejapa is ''Las Bolas De Fuego'' ("Balls of Fire"), celebrated August 31st. The celebration has two origins, one historical and the other religious. The historical version explains that the local volcano El Playon erupted in November 1658 and forced the villagers of the old Nejapa village (known as Nixapa) to flee and settle at its current location. The religious version explains how Saint Jerome fought the Devil with Fire Balls. Participants engage in a planned fire-fight to commemorate the volcanic eruption in 1922. Estadio Cuscatlán
The Estadio Cuscatlán is a football stadium located in the city of San Salvador, El Salvador. It was inaugurated in 1976. It can hold 53,400 spectators, making it the Association Football stadium with the largest spectator capacity in Central America and the Caribbean. The stadium has undergone several renovations, including in 1997; 2007; 2008; 2015, with the change of colors alluding to the country's flag (blue and white); and the most recent in 2020, with the installation of a new screen 100m² 4K LED and 54 new 1,500-watt metal halide luminaires with a capacity of 1,000 luxes, and an automated irrigation system. 2007 UNCAF Nations Cup
The 2007 UNCAF Nations Cup was the ninth version of the biennial association football, football tournament for the CONCACAF national teams of Central America. The event took place in San Salvador, El Salvador from February 8 to February 18, 2007. It was the second time El Salvador hosted the competition. The tournament also served as a qualifying process for the 2007 CONCACAF Gold Cup. Costa Rica national football team, Costa Rica won the tournament on Penalty shootout (association football), penalty kicks after a 1–1 draw with Panama national football team, Panama in the final.
