João Carlos Pereira
João Carlos Serra Ferreira Pereira (born 11 April 1965) is a Portuguese football manager and former player. As a player he was a winger. Playing career Born in Luanda, Portuguese Angola to Portuguese parents, Pereira started playing football with A.C. Marinhense, and went on to spend one season in the Segunda Liga with the club. From 1985 to 1987 he represented Académica de Coimbra in the Primeira Liga, but was never more than a reserve player. Pereira retired professionally in June 1990 at the age of only 25, after spells in the second division with Moreirense F.C. and C.D. Trofense. Coaching career Pereira began coaching aged just 32, starting with Marinhense in division three and moving in 2001 to fellow league side S.C. Pombal. The Liga Portuguesa de Futebol Profissional (English: Portuguese Professional Football League), also known by its acronym LPFP, is a governing body that manages professional football club competitions in Portugal. João António Ferreira Resende Alves (born 5 December 1952) is a Portuguese football manager and former player. A skilled attacking midfielder, he was considered one of the best Portuguese players of his generation, and earned the nickname ''Luvas Pretas'' from the black gloves he used to wear while playing following in the style of his grandfather Carlos Alves. During his career he represented mainly, with equal individual and team success, Benfica and Boavista, also coaching the latter club on three separate occasions. The 2010–11 Cypriot First Division was the 72nd season of the Cypriot top-level football league. It began on 27 August 2010 with the first matches of the first round and will end on 11 May 2011 with the last matches of the second round. The defending champions were Omonia. APOEL won the championship four matchweeks before the end of the season. Competition modus Fourteen teams participate in the competition. Eleven of them have also competed in the 2009–10 season while the remaining three teams were promoted from the Second Division. SIC Notícias () is the cable news channel of the Portuguese television network SIC (''Sociedade Independente de Comunicação'') and the second thematic channel of the station. It is available on basic cable and satellite. It replaced CNL (''Canal de Notícias de Lisboa''), a Lisbon region independent cable news channel owned by TV Cabo, on January 8, 2001.
