Mark Gerretsen
Mark Gerretsen (born June 5, 1975) is a Canadian politician who is the Member of Parliament for Kingston and the Islands as a member of the Liberal Party of Canada. He was first elected in the 2015 federal election, and re-elected in 2019, 2021 and 2025. He currently serves on the Standing Committee for Procedure and House Affairs and is the former Chair of the Ontario Liberal Caucus. Gerretsen currently serves as Deputy Leader of the Government in the House of Commons. He previously served as the Parliamentary secretary to the Leader of the Government in the House of Commons, a position he held effective December 3, 2021. Sophie Kiwala
Sophie Alison Kiwala (born 1962) is a former politician in Ontario, Canada. She was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 2014 to 2018 who represented the riding of Kingston and the Islands. Background Kiwala was born and raised in Kingston, Ontario. She moved to Toronto shortly after finishing high school, and took courses at Humber College. In 1986 she married and moved with her first husband to Turkey in the 1990s. She returned to Kingston in 1998 to look after her ailing mother. She studied political science at Queen's University. Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the northeastern end of Lake Ontario. It is at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River, the south end of the Rideau Canal.
