José Ulises Macías Salcedo
José Ulises Macías Salcedo, Archbishop emeritus of the Archdiocese of Hermosillo, was born in León, Guanajuato, Mexico, on October 29, 1940. He studied humanities in the Seminary of his native city, and studied philosophy and theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome, where later received a Licentiate in Philosophy. He was then ordained a priest in León, Guanajuato, on April 10, 1966. Named bishop for the Diocese of Mexicali by Pope John Paul II, on 16 June 1984, and consecrated on 29 July, in the city of Mexicali, presided over by Apostolic Delegate Archbishop Girolamo Prigione. Carlos Quintero Arce
Carlos Quintero Arce (February 13, 1920 – February 15, 2016) was a Mexican prelate of the Catholic Church. Priest Quintero Arce was born in Etzatlán, Mexico, and was ordained a priest on April 8, 1944, for the Archdiocese of Guadalajara. He was appointed Bishop of the Diocese of Ciudad Valles on March 20, 1961, and consecrated on May 14, 1961. Quintero Arce was appointed Coadjutor Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Hermosillo on March 3, 1966, and succeeded as bishop upon retirement of Archbishop Juan María Navarrete y Guerrero on August 18, 1968. Quintero Arce retired from the Archdiocese of Hermosillo on August 20, 1996. Girolamo Prigione
Girolamo Prigione (12 October 1921 – 27 May 2016) was an Italian prelate of the Roman Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See from 1951 to 1997. He became an archbishop in 1968 and from then until retirement held positions at the rank of apostolic delegate or apostolic nuncio in several countries, including almost twenty years in Mexico where he became a controversial figure. Early years Prigione was born in Castellazzo Bormida and ordained a priest on 18 May 1944. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1951. He fulfilled assignments in Italy, Great Britain, the United States and Austria, and also served as a delegate at the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna. Excellency is an honorific style (manner of address), style given to certain high-level officers of a sovereign state, officials of an international organization, or members of an aristocracy.
