José Torres (percussionist)
José Torres (born 19 September 1958, Havana, Cuba) is a Cuban-Polish musician and percussionist. A graduate of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music, Torres was a founder of the first Polish salsa (music), salsa orchestra under the name José Torres y Salsa Tropical. From the very beginning of his stay in Poland (except for a period of several years), he has lived in Wrocław. He has a wife Iza and sons Tomasz Torres, Tomasz (drummer for Afromental) and Filip. He authored an autobiography: ''Salsa na wolności'' (, Wydawnictwo Dolnośląskie, 2006). Zbigniew Namysłowski
Zbigniew Jacek Namysłowski (9 September 1939 – 7 February 2022) was a Polish jazz alto saxophonist, flautist, cellist, trombonist, pianist and composer. Life and career Namysłowski was born in Warsaw, Poland, on 9 September 1939. He performed on the Krzysztof Komeda album '' Astigmatic'' recorded in 1965. He collaborated with such artists as Janusz Muniak, Leszek Możdżer, Vladislav Sendecki, Michał Urbaniak, and Andrzej Trzaskowski. Conga Players
The conga, also known as tumbadora, is a tall, narrow, single-headed drum from Cuba. Congas are stave (wood), staved like barrels and classified into three types: quinto (drum), quinto (lead drum, highest), tres dos or tres golpes (middle), and tumba or salidor (lowest). Congas were originally used in Afro-Cuban music genres such as Conga (music), conga (hence their name) and Cuban rumba, rumba, where each drummer would play a single drum. Following numerous innovations in conga drumming and construction during the mid-20th century, as well as its internationalization, it became increasingly common for drummers to play two or three drums. Ryszard Rynkowski (born October 9, 1951, in Elbląg) is a Polish singer, composer, pianist and actor. In the years 1978—1987 accompanist of ''Vox (band), Vox'' music band, a solo artist since 1987. His trademark is the scratchy, smoky voice. Joe Cocker himself therefore also called him the "Polish Joe Cocker". He was awarded with the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta and the Order of the Smile. He also is honorary citizen of Elbląg, Poland.
