José Recio

	José Recio José Recio Ariza (born January 24, 1957, in Fernán Núñez) is a Spanish former professional road racing cyclist. He won five stages of the Vuelta a España and several Spanish stage races including the Volta a Catalunya, Setmana Catalana de Ciclisme and Vuelta a Burgos. Recio turned professional in 1980, and started in the Vuelta a Espana. This was not a success; he dropped out soon, stopped riding, and became a bricklayer for one year. In 1982, he returned as a professional rider, started the Vuelta again, and won a stage. 1983 also was good, as he won the Volta a Catalunya. In 1984, he was one of the leaders of his team in the Vuelta a Espana, and won a stage, finishing in the top ten overall. Since 2005, the race has been organised as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. On 25 April 2014, the Vuelta Asturias was suspended one week before its start due to the lack of funds and sponsors. 	1987 Volta A Catalunya The 1987 Volta a Catalunya was the 67th edition of the Volta a Catalunya cycle race and was held from 9 September to 17 September 1987 with a total of 8 stages. The race started in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia and finished in Platja d'Aro. The race was won by Galician Álvaro Pino from the BH team. Ángel Arroyo from Reynolds-Seur team and Iñaki Gastón from Kas team were second and third in the race.
