José Luis Ramírez
José Luis Ramírez (born December 3, 1958) is a Mexican former professional boxer who was a two-time World Lightweight Champion. His most notable fights include two fights each with Edwin Rosario and Pernell Whitaker as well as fights against Ruben Olivares, Alexis Arguello, Ray Mancini, Hector Camacho, Julio Cesar Chavez and Juan Martin Coggi. Career A native of Huatabampo, Sonora and a resident of Culiacán, Ramírez made his professional debut on March 25, 1973 at the age of 15. He climbed slowly but steadily on boxing's rankings. In 1978, as a Featherweight, a 19 year old Ramírez lost by knockout for the only time in his career to legendary three time former world champion Rubén Olivares in two rounds. Jose Ramirez (born May 9, 1999) is an American professional football linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Eastern Michigan Eagles. Early life Ramirez grew up in Lake Alfred, Florida and attended Auburndale High School. He played wide receiver, cornerback, safety and linebacker for the football team. A three-star recruit, he served as team captain as a senior and earned all-state honors. On December 24, 2016, Ramirez committed to play college football at Arizona after having previously committed to South Alabama earlier in the month. José Santos Ramírez
José Santos Ramírez (c. 1790 – 1851) was an Argentine soldier for a long time in the militia of Mendoza Province, and was involved on the Federalist side in several of the Argentine Civil Wars. Early years José Santos Ramírez was born in San Luis, Argentina around 1790. He settled at a young age in the city of Mendoza. In 1812 he was appointed secretary to the governor of Mendoza, Colonel José Bolaños, who influenced him to join the provincial militia. He served for many years in the forces guarding the southern border of the province. In 1829, with the rank of lieutenant colonel, Ramírez joined the Federalist army under Colonel José Félix Aldao, campaigned against the Unitarian General José María Paz and fought in the Battle of La Tablada. Returning from that engagement he fought in the Battle of Pilar. José Fernando Ramírez
José Fernando Ramírez (5 May 1804 – 4 March 1871) was a distinguished Mexican historian of the 19th century. He was a mentor of Alfredo Chavero, who considered him "the foremost of our historians." A moderate liberal republican, Ramírez opposed the French invasion of Mexico and establishment of monarchy in 1862, but accepted the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs in the regime of Emperor Maximilian I of Mexico. He was a valuable asset for the emperor, who wished to have a broad appeal to Mexicans. Ramírez was born in Parral, Chihuahua but grew up in Durango, where he served as a prominent liberal politician. José Ramírez III (1922–1995) was a Spanish luthier and founder of Ramírez Guitars. He was responsible for major changes both to the company and to the classical guitars it produces. Ramírez was raised in a guitar making family, and served his luthier's apprenticeship in the family business founded by his grandfather, José Ramírez, and by then run by his father José II. During and in the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War material shortages forced them to experiment, and the young José developed a love of innovation. But this was also a frustrating time for him; Frequently, his father sold his work with little if any documentation as to the construction, the results, or the buyer. He has attempted to become the fourth Mexican people, Mexican driver to run a Nextel Cup race after Pedro Rodríguez (racing driver), Pedro Rodríguez, Al Loquasto, and Jorge Goeters. He attempted a Nextel race in 2005 at Infineon Raceway, but he failed to qualify. He is a former unified champion at light welterweight, having held the World Boxing Council (WBC) title from 2018 to 2021 and the World Boxing Organization (WBO) title from 2019 to 2021.
