José Pérez Rosa
José O. Pérez Rosa, also known as "Joito", is a Puerto Rican politician from the New Progressive Party (PNP). Pérez was elected to the Senate of Puerto Rico in 2012. In 2020, Pérez ran again. Early years and studies José Pérez Rosa was born in Arecibo to Nolida Rosa Pérez and José Pérez Soto. Pérez studied at the Antonio Luchetti Vocational School where he received a Technical Degree in Electronics. After graduating, Pérez enrolled at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico at Aguadilla to obtain a Bachelor's degree in Electronical Engineering. However, with the illness of his father, Pérez had to take over the business and couldn't finish his studies. Pedro Rosselló
Pedro Juan Rosselló González (; born April 5, 1944) is a Puerto Rican physician and politician who served as the governor of Puerto Rico from 1993 to 2001. He was President of the New Progressive Party from 1991 to 1999 and 2003 to 2008, and served as Senator for the District of Arecibo from 2005 to 2008. His son, Ricardo, was also Governor of Puerto Rico from 2017 to 2019. In 1988 Rosselló ran for Resident Commissioner of Puerto Rico, but lost to Jaime Fuster in the 1988 elections. From 1990 to 1991 he successfully challenged former Governor and then-NPP President Carlos Romero Barceló for the NPP's presidency. He was thereafter elected Governor of Puerto Rico in 1992 and in 1996 was re-elected by the widest electoral margin up to that date. The 2012 New Progressive Party primaries were the primary elections by which voters of the New Progressive Party (PNP) chose its nominees for various political offices of Puerto Rico for the 2012 general elections. They were held on March 18, 2012 and coincided with the Republican Party primaries in the island. Background At the time of the primaries, the New Progressive Party had already chosen current Governor Luis Fortuño, as their gubernatorial candidate for reelection. He would be joined again in the ballot by current Resident Commissioner Pedro Pierluisi.
