José Ortiz Daliot
José Alfredo Ortiz Daliot is a Puerto Rican attorney and politician. He is a former director of the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration (PRFAA) and a former member of the Senate of Puerto Rico. Earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Puerto Rico and a Juris Doctor from the University of Puerto Rico School of Law. Ortiz Daliot served as counsel for the city and municipality of Mayagüez, which requested inclusion in the receipt of public works capital when the city closed six sugarmills in the 1970s. Ortiz Daliot served at PRFAA during Governor Rafael Hernández Colón's administration. In 2000 he was elected, along with professor Margarita Ostolaza as Senator from the District of San Juan. During his only term in office, Ortiz Daliot authored many laws, including the one that created San Juan's Ecological Corridor. ''El Vocero de Puerto Rico'' is a Puerto Rican free newspaper that is published in San Juan. Published since 1974, ''El Vocero'' was at first the third of the four largest Puerto Rico newspapers, trailing '' El Mundo'' and '' El Nuevo Día'' and leading '' El Reportero'' and '' The San Juan Star'' in sales. With the temporary demise in the late 1980s of ''El Mundo'', ''El Vocero'' became even more popular, becoming the island's largest newspaper by 1994. Carlos Alberto Díaz Sánchez (born February 6, 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican politician, and former member of the Puerto Rico House of Representatives and Senate. Early years and studies Carlos Díaz was born on February 6, 1970, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. He was raised by single mother Lydia Sánchez Bermúdez, along with her sister Ann Lee, at Las Gladiolas Housing Project in Hato Rey. He studied at Brigham Young University in Utah. Being a practicing Mormon, Díaz did missionary work in Guatemala in 1992. Roberto Arango
Roberto Arango-Vinent is an American politician who served in the Senate of Puerto Rico from January 2005 until August 2011 representing the San Juan district for the New Progressive Party of Puerto Rico (NPP), which is a conservative group derived from the Republican Statehood Party. During his tenure, Arango voted for anti-gay legislation several times. He resigned his senate seat and withdrew from politics in 2011 after a series of nude photos from the gay match application Grindr were made public, and stated that he had come to realise that he was gay. Margarita Ostolaza Bey is a former member of the Senate of Puerto Rico. Margarita Ostolaza was born in Cayey, Puerto Rico. After carrying out her graduate studies at New York University (NYU) earning a Master of Political Science, she started teaching in the Cayey campus of the University of Puerto Rico where in 1986, she founded the Project for Studies of Women. Afterwards, she finished her doctoral studies at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. Her specialty is political sociology.
