José María Silva (basketball)
Licenciado José María Silva (c. 1804, San Miguel, El Salvador – October 16, 1876, San Miguel) was a Liberal Salvadoran politician. He was twice briefly chief of state of the State of El Salvador, within the Federal Republic of Central America (1834–35 and 1840). Silva was born into a well-to-do family about 1804. In 1827 he received a doctorate in law. He was a deputy to the state legislature in 1828, and its secretary in 1829. In May 1829 he asked for a military judgment of the prisoners taken at the capitulation of Mejicanos, in the first phase of the Central American Civil War. In June 1829 he moved to Guatemala, as a commissioner of the legislature, charged along with P. Colom with personally delivering to General Francisco Morazán, commander of the victorious revolutionary armies, the decree by which Morazán was to remain in power until the establishment of new federal authorities. Nicolás Espinoza
Nicolás Espinoza (November 1795 – March 1845) was a Salvadoran military officer and politician who served as the head of state of El Salvador from 10 April 1835 to 15 November 1835. At the time, El Salvador was a constituent state of the Federal Republic of Central America. Biography Nicolás Espinoza was born in November 1795 in Tenancingo, then a part of New Spain. The Legislative Assembly of El Salvador elected Espinoza as the state's head of state in the March 1835 election. Espinoza served as the president of the Supreme Court of Justice of El Salvador from 1840 to 1841. Justo Abaunza y Muñoz de Avilés (1778 – 1872) was a Costa Rican-born legitimist Nicaraguan lawyer and politician who served as acting Supreme Director of Nicaragua from 1 April to 5 May 1851, and as provisional Supreme Director appointed by José Trinidad Muñoz from 4 August to 2 November 1851. Biography Early career In 1803, Marcelo de los Santos Porras, priest of the town of Masaya, stated that according to the baptismal books and the last census practiced in his parishioners, there were Spanish residents suitable for public service, all between ages 25 and 60, such as Lieutenant Abaunza, who was the sub-delegate of the Party of Nicoya.
