José Luis Ramón
José Luis Ramón (born 29 April 1964) is an Argentine lawyer and politician who served as a National Deputy elected in Mendoza Province from 2017 to 2021. Ramón is the founder and leader of Protector Political Force, a provincial party in Mendoza originally established as a consumer rights advocacy group. In the Chamber of Deputies, he sat in and presided the "Federal Unity for Development" inter-bloc. Ramón ran for the governorship of Mendoza in 2019, and was the third-most voted candidate with 8.71% of the vote. Early life and career Ramón was born on 29 April 1964 in Rufino, Santa Fe Province. The Chamber of Deputies (), officially the Honorable Chamber of Deputies of the Argentine Nation, is the lower house of the Argentine National Congress (). It is made up of 257 national deputies who are elected in multi-member constituencies corresponding with the territories of the 23 provinces of Argentina (plus the Federal Capital) by party list proportional representation. Elections to the Chamber are held every two years, so that half of its members are up in each election, making it a rare example of staggered elections used in a lower house. Rodolfo Suárez
Rodolfo Alejandro Suarez (born 20 April 1963) is an Argentine Radical Civic Union politician who is currently serving as a National Senator for Mendoza Province since 10 December 2023. He previously served as governor of Mendoza from 2019 to 2023, and from 2014 to 2019, he was ''intendente'' (mayor) of the City of Mendoza, having assumed office following the death of then-mayor Víctor Fayad. Suarez wanted to reform the Constitution, which has not been updated for more than 100 years. Evolución Ciudadana or simply Evolución , was an Argentine political coalition founded by Martin Lousteau in the City of Buenos Aires. Currently, under the name Radical Evolution, is the internal radical group led by Martín Lousteau, that governs the Radical Civic Union in the district of Buenos Aires. The Voluntary Interruption of Pregnancy Law (; IVE) was approved by the National Congress of Argentina in 2020, legalizing abortion in Argentina. The first draft of the bill was created in 2006 by the National Campaign for the Right to Legal, Safe, and Free Abortion (''Campaña Nacional por el Derecho al Aborto Legal, Seguro y Gratuito''), which sought to have Congress consider it in seven different occasions, to no avail. 2021 Argentine Legislative Election
Legislative elections were held in Argentina on 14 November 2021. Half of the seats in the Chamber of Deputies and a third of the seats in the Senate were renewed. The election had previously been scheduled to take place on 24 October 2021, but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Argentina. Open, Simultaneous and Mandatory Primaries (PASO) were previously scheduled to take place on 8 August 2021, but took place on 12 September 2021, having also been postponed due to COVID-19. There were proposals, backed by the ruling Frente de Todos, to scrap the primaries altogether due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The proposals were opposed by the Juntos por el Cambio opposition.
