José Lasa (basketball)
José María Lasa Ibarguren (born 3 March 1948) is a Spanish former footballer who played mainly as a right-back. He amassed La Liga totals of 287 games and 38 goals, representing in the competition Granada, Athletic Bilbao and Zaragoza. Club career Born in Andoain, Gipuzkoa, Lasa reached the professional level at the age of 21 when he signed for Real Valladolid from CD Logroñés in 1968. He spent two seasons in the Segunda División with the former club, being relegated in the second; he started playing as a winger. Lasa made his debut in La Liga with Granada CF, in a 1–1 away draw against Elche CF on 13 September 1970. He scored his first goal thirteen days later, in the 3–2 loss at Real Madrid. He finished the campaign with a further seven in 30 games, helping to a final tenth position. Lasa joined fellow top-flight side Athletic Bilbao in the summer of 1972. Andoain
Andoain is a town in the province of Gipuzkoa, in the autonomous community of Basque Country, in the North of Spain. Nowadays it has a population of 14,637 inhabitants (2019), which has been quite stable since the 90s. Andoain is located where the Oria River meets the Leitzaran river, next to the mountains Belkoain and Buruntza. ''Deia'' (in Basque, ''The call'') is a Basque Country-based newspaper incorporated in 1977, with a Basque nationalistic perspective. The newspaper is bilingual in character though principally written in Spanish with some articles in Basque. Deia is the main product of the Editorial Iparraguirre S.A. (EISA). Although their initial objective was to cover news in the whole of the Basque Country, they actually have as their tag line ''Noticias de Bizkaia'', as their principle market is in Biscay, where they are the second largest newspaper in the city. 1977 UEFA Cup Final
The 1977 UEFA Cup Final was played on 4 May 1977 and 18 May 1977 between Italian side Juventus and Spanish side Athletic Bilbao. Juventus won 2-2 on away goals. This is the only triumph for an Italian side in an official European tournament without foreign players in its first team squad. It also marked Juventus' first title in European football, as well as the first time the UEFA Cup was won by a Southern European club. Rafael Iriondo
Rafael Iriondo Aurtenetxea (24 October 1918 – 24 February 2016) was a Spanish football forward and manager. He amassed La Liga totals of 285 matches and 89 goals over 15 seasons, with Athletic Bilbao and Real Sociedad. He subsequently became a manager, working for nearly 30 years and being in charge of both clubs. Club career Born in Guernica, Biscay, Iriondo arrived at Basque giants Athletic Bilbao in 1940, from Atlético Tetuán. He made his La Liga debut on 29 September in a 2–2 away draw against Valencia CF and, during his 13-year spell with the club, would form an historic attacking partnership with Agustín Gaínza, José Luis Panizo and Telmo Zarra, winning the 1942–43 league and four Copa del Generalísimo trophies. Iriondo took part in 332 competitive games for Athletic and scored 116 goals, joining neighbouring Barakaldo CF in 1953.
