José Antonio Redondo (cyclist)
José Antonio Redondo Ramos (born 5 March 1985 in Alcázar de San Juan) is a Spanish former racing cyclist who last rode for UCI Professional Continental team Andalucía–CajaSur. In 2007, riding for Astana, Redondo finished second in the 2nd stage of both the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré and the Vuelta al País Vasco. Redondo was sacked from Astana in September 2007 after "failing to abide by team rules". Alcázar De San Juan
Alcázar de San Juan is a city and municipality of Spain located in the province of Ciudad Real, autonomous community of Castilla–La Mancha. It lies on the plain of La Mancha. From the 13th to the 19th century the history of Alcázar is strongly linked to the Grand Priory of the Order of St. John of Jerusalem. The city became a railway hub in the 19th century. Geography The municipality is part the large plain of La Mancha, standing at around 650 metres above sea level. The area is drained by two tributaries of the Guadiana: the Cigüela and the Záncara, located to the west and south of the urban centre, respectively. Astana Team
Astana Qazaqstan Team () is a professional road bicycle racing team sponsored by the Samruk-Kazyna, a coalition of state-owned companies from Kazakhstan and named after its capital city Astana. Astana attained UCI ProTeam status in its inaugural year, 2007. Following a major doping scandal involving Kazakh rider Alexander Vinokourov, team management was terminated and new management brought in for the 2008 season. The team was then managed by Johan Bruyneel, former team manager of U.S. Postal/Discovery Channel team. Under Bruyneel the ethical nature of the team did not improve, although Astana in this period was very successful. With a lineup including Grand Tour winner Alberto Contador, as well as runner-up Andreas Klöden the results were there, however the team was on the verge of financial collapse in May 2009. The 2007 Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré was the 59th edition of the Critérium du Dauphiné Libéré cycle race and was held from 10 June to 17 June 2007. The race consisted of a Prologue and seven stages, of which one was a time trial, covering a total of about , starting in Grenoble and finishing in Annecy. Teams Nineteen teams, each with a maximum of eight riders, entered the race: Pre-race favourites The race was important preparation for the Tour de France.
