José Alberto Benítez Román (born 14 November 1981) is a Spanish former professional road bicycle racer, who competed professionally between 2006 and 2011 for the and teams. He raced with the Spiuk continental team 2005, before turning professional with in 2006. His first major achievement was winning the mountains classification in the 2007 Vuelta a Andalucía. Road bicycle racing is the cycle sport discipline of road cycling, held primarily on paved roads. Road racing is the most popular professional form of bicycle racing, in terms of numbers of competitors, events and spectators.
