Josip Bodrožić
Josip Bodrožić, a retired Australian–Croatian super heavyweight kickboxer, was born on 20 June 1973, in Melbourne, Australia. He was 2 meters tall and during his competitive career weighed approximately 120 kilograms. Biography and career At the age of 13 Bodrožić moved with his family to Kaštel Gomilica. He became active in amateur kickboxing, and competed in the European and World Championships until 2000, when he turned professional. Two of his most noted accomplishments were bronze medals at W.A.K.O., world championships under full contact rules 1997 in Gdańsk and again in 1999 in Caorle. In 2000, as a professional, Bodrožić began competing overseas, often in K-1 promotions. His most famous fight was against Bellarusian Alexey Ignashov in 2003 at the K-1 Final Fight Stars War in Zagreb, the capital of Croatia—an event promoted by Orsat Zovko. List Of WAKO Amateur World Championships
W.A.K.O. held its first amateur world championships in 1978 in West Berlin, after having previously staged two European championships the two years previously. It followed this with a second world championships a year later in Tampa, Florida. During the 1980s the world championships were held every other year except for in 1985 when a feud within the W.A.K.O. organization led to two versions of the championships being held on the same date – one in London, the other in Budapest. In the 1990s W.A.K.O. held its world championships intermittently with at least one every other year although, in 1993 the organization again had a temporary political dispute which like 1985 meant two championships in one year. Dževad Poturak (born September 20, 1977) is a Bosnian heavyweight kickboxer, fighting out of Jumruk Gym in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is the former WAKO Pro World Low-Kick champion and K-1 Fighting Network Prague 2007 tournament champion. He holds notable wins over Daniel Ghiță, Melvin Manhoef, Sergei Lashchenko and Jörgen Kruth. Jörgen Ingmar Kruth (born May 8, 1974) is a retired Swedish professional kickboxer and mixed martial artist. He is a former two time World Muay Thai Council Heavyweight Muaythai World Champion. He is considered to be among the greatest Scandinavian kickboxers of all time. Biography and career Muay Thai career Jörgen started practicing martial arts first time in 1984. He tried Judo and Jujutsu and couple years later switched over to taekwondo. It was not until 1987 when he came in contact with Muay Thai first time. He started to train under Po Lindwall. Kruth had his first Muay Thai fight in 1988 at the age of 14. In 1993 he had 3 amateur boxing bouts and as well as two Savate fights. In 1994, at the age of 19, he became Nordic Muaythai Champion.
