Josh Simm
Josh Simm (born 27 February 2001) is an English professional rugby league footballer who plays as a or er for the Castleford Tigers in the Super League. He has previously played for St Helens R.F.C., St Helens in the Super League and the Wynnum Manly Seagulls in the Queensland Cup. He has spent time on loan from St Helens R.F.C., St Helens with the Leigh Centurions in both the RFL Championship, Championship and the Super League and with Hull F.C., Hull FC in the Super League. Super League XXVII, known as the 2022 Betfred Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the 27th season of the Super League and 128th season of rugby league in Great Britain. The season commenced on 10 February 2022 and ended with the Grand Final on 24 September 2022. St Helens were the reigning champions going into Super League XXVII, after successfully retaining their title, beating Catalans Dragons in the 2021 Grand Final. For the first time in Super League, there were two French teams in the competition, as Toulouse Olympique were promoted from the Championship, by beating Featherstone Rovers in the 2021 Million Pound Game. Super League XXVI, known as the 2021 Betfred Super League XXVI for sponsorship reasons, was the 26th season of the Super League and 127th season of rugby league in Great Britain. Super League XXV, known as the 2020 Betfred Super League for sponsorship reasons, was the 25th season of the Super League and 126th season of rugby league in Great Britain. St Helens were the reigning champions going into Super League XXV. At the start of the season, the competition consisted of twelve teams: ten from England, one from Canada, and one from France. Due to financial pressures related to the season suspension, Canadian side Toronto Wolfpack withdrew from the league in July 2020, and the league continued with just 11 teams. The league was suspended on 16 March, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but a resumption to a revised format started again on 2 August. 2025 Challenge Cup
The 2025 Challenge Cup, known for sponsorship reasons as the 2025 Betfred Challenge Cup, was the 124th edition of the Challenge Cup, the main rugby league knockout cup tournament in British rugby league, run by the Rugby Football League (RFL). Background Following discussions in 2024, it was announced that the format was being revised and there would now only be seven rounds of competition, down from the nine rounds used in recent seasons. The changes saw the Championship and League One clubs entering in round 2 (round 3 in 2024), and the Super League clubs entering in round 3 (round 6 in 2024), with all 12 super league teams playing away in round 3.
