Josh Klinghoffer
Josh Adam Klinghoffer (born October 3, 1979) is an American musician best known for being the guitarist for the rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers from 2009 to 2019, with whom he recorded two studio albums, '' I'm with You'' (2011) and '' The Getaway'' (2016), and the B-sides compilation '' I'm Beside You'' (2013). Klinghoffer took the place of his friend and frequent collaborator John Frusciante in 2009, after a period as the band's touring rhythm guitarist. At age 32, Klinghoffer was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with the Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2012, making him the youngest inductee at the time. Following his departure from Red Hot Chili Peppers in 2019, Klinghoffer became a touring and session member of both Pearl Jam (since 2021) and Jane's Addiction (2023). ''The Getaway'' is the eleventh studio album by American rock band Red Hot Chili Peppers, released through Warner Bros. on June 17, 2016. It is the band's only studio album since '' Mother's Milk'' (1989) to not be produced by Rick Rubin, instead being produced by Danger Mouse, as well as the second and final album with guitarist Josh Klinghoffer. Butthole Surfers are an American rock band formed in San Antonio, Texas, by singer Gibby Haynes and guitarist Paul Leary in 1981. Warpaint is an American indie rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 2004. Ataxia (band)
Ataxia was an American experimental rock supergroup formed in 2004 by guitarist John Frusciante (Red Hot Chili Peppers), bassist Joe Lally (Fugazi) and drummer Josh Klinghoffer (Dot Hacker, The Bicycle Thief), who later became the lead guitarist for Red Hot Chili Peppers during Frusciante's absence, until Frusciante rejoined in 2019. Ataxia wrote and recorded songs for two weeks, and the material was separated into two albums: ''Automatic Writing'' (2004) and ''AW II'' (2007). The songs all feature a ground-bass line with the guitar overlaying different motifs and long developments. In March 2008, Lally described the band's writing process: Ataxia performed two shows, both at the Knitting Factory in Los Angeles, on February 2 and February 3, 2004.
