Josef Vacenovský
Josef Vacenovský (9 July 1937 – 4 December 2023) was a Czech football forward who played for Czechoslovakia in the 1960 European Nations' Cup. He also played for Dukla Prague. Life Vacenovský was born on 9 July 1937 in Ratíškovice. He died on 4 December 2023, at the age of 86. Career Vacenovský played for Dukla Prague during the club's golden era and won six league titles. In 1960, he participated with the Czechoslovakia national team in the European Nations' Cup, but did not get into any matches. He made his only start for the national team in a 1964 friendly match against Poland. Ratíškovice
Ratíškovice is a municipality and village in Hodonín District in the South Moravian Region of the Czech Republic. It has about 4,000 inhabitants. Geography Ratíškovice is located about northeast of Hodonín and southeast of Hodonín. It lies in a flat landscape of the Lower Morava Valley. The highest point is the Náklo hill at above sea level. History The first written mention of Ratíškovice is in a deed of bishop Jindřich Zdík from 1141. It is one of the oldest villages in the area. People in Ratíškovice were mainly farmers; they used to grow rye, barley, oat, potatoes, corn, millet and hemp. At the end of the 19th century, they started to work in mines in Dubňany and Milotice. The First Czechoslovak Republic, often colloquially referred to as the First Republic, was the first Czechoslovakia, Czechoslovak state that existed from 1918 to 1938, a union of ethnic Czechs and Slovaks. Dukla Prague
Dukla Prague () was a Czech football club from the city of Prague. Established in 1948 as ATK Praha, the club won a total of 11 Czechoslovak league titles and eight Czechoslovak Cups, and in the 1966–67 season, reached the semi-finals of the European Cup. As late as 1985–86 they reached the UEFA Cup Winners' Cup semi-final and they also made a great impact in the American Challenge Cup competition in New York City with four wins between 1961 and 1964. The club sent seven players to the silver medal-winning Czechoslovakia national team in the 1962 World Cup, in a year which saw them win the fifth of their domestic league titles as well as their player Josef Masopust be named European Footballer of the Year.
