Jordi Badía Romero
Jordi Badía Romero (11 November 1938 – 23 February 1984), also known as Jobaro, Jorge or Jorge B. Gálvez, was a Spanish comic artist. He began his career in the 1950s, illustrating Spanish adventure and romance stories, often working with his brother, Enrique Badía Romero; they signed their joint work "Hnos. Badía" (Badía Brothers). In the 1960s and '70s he worked for British comics companies Fleetway Publications and DC Thomson, including girls' comics ''Misty'' and '' Spellbound'', illustrating ''Supercats'' for the latter. In the United States he contributed to ''Creepy'' in the 1970s and ''Tarzan'' in the '80s. In 2019 his work for ''Misty'' was collected in a hardback graphic novel by the Treasury of British Comics. Enrique Badía Romero
Enrique Badía Romero (who signs his work simply Romero; born 24 April 1930) is a Spanish comics artist, best known to English-speaking audiences for his work on ''Modesty Blaise''. He is also the co-creator of the post-apocalyptic science fiction strip ''AXA'', as well as a substantial body of work in his native Spain. Biography Romero's career began at the age of 15 when he was taken on as an apprentice of the artist Emilio Freixas. After contributing to the publication ''Susy'' in 1949, he went on to produce artwork for several series under the signature "Badia". Fleetway Publications
Fleetway Publications was a magazine publishing company based in London. It was founded in 1959 when the Mirror Group acquired the Amalgamated Press, then based at Fleetway House, Farringdon Street, London. It was one of the companies that merged into the IPC group in 1963, and the Fleetway banner continued to be used until 1968 when all IPC's publications were reorganised into the unitary IPC Magazines. In 1987 IPC's comics line was sold to Robert Maxwell as Fleetway Publications. Egmont UK bought Fleetway from Maxwell in 1991, merging it with their own comics publishing operation, London Editions, to form Fleetway Editions, but the name "Fleetway" ceased to appear on their comics some time after 2002. ''Misty'' was a weekly British comic magazine targeted at girls and published by Fleetway in the late 1970s. ''Creepy'' was an American horror-comics magazine launched by Warren Publishing in 1964. Like '' Mad'', it was a black-and-white newsstand publication in a magazine format and did not carry the seal of the Comics Code Authority. An anthology magazine, it initially was published quarterly but later went bimonthly. Each issue's stories were introduced by the host character, Uncle Creepy. Its sister publications were '' Eerie'' and '' Vampirella''. Galerie Lambiek is a Dutch comic book store and art gallery in Amsterdam, founded on November 8, 1968 by Kees Kousemaker (, – Bussum, ), though since 2007, his son Boris Kousemaker is the current owner.
