Jones–Bowman House
The Jones–Bowman House was built in 1842 in Columbiana, Ohio. The house was built by J. Jones who was the son of an abolitionist. It is believed that the house was part of the Underground Railroad. The house has remained preserved as it was built. It is a two-story home in an "L" shape. A spiral staircase and four wood-burning fireplaces have not been altered since the house was built. The house was purchased by E. Bowman in 1885. Columbiana is a city in Columbiana County, Ohio, Columbiana and Mahoning County, Ohio, Mahoning counties in the U.S. state of Ohio. The population was 6,559 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. It is part of the Mahoning Valley, Youngstown–Warren metropolitan area. The Underground Railroad was an organized network of secret routes and safe houses used by freedom seekers to escape to the abolitionist Northern United States and Eastern Canada.
