Jonas Guimarães
Jonas Guimarães (born 7 May 1951) is a Brazilian businessman and politician. Although born in São Paulo, he has spent his political career representing Paraná, having served in the state legislature since 2007. Personal life Guimarães is an evangelical Christian and member of the Christian Congregation in Brazil. Before entering politics Guimarães worked in business. His brother Edno Guimarães is the former mayor of Cianorte. Roberto Requião de Mello e Silva (born March 5, 1941) is a Brazilian politician and journalist. He has represented Paraná (state), Paraná in the Brazilian Senate, Federal Senate two times, between 1995 and 2002 and from 2011 to 2019. Previously, he was governor of Paraná from 2003 to 2010. He was a member of the Brazilian Democratic Movement Party from 1980 to 2022, when he decided to leave the party to join the Workers' Party (Brazil), Workers' Party in order to run in the 2022 Paraná gubernatorial election. Paraná () is one of the 26 states of Brazil, in the Southern Region, Brazil, south of the country. The Brazilian Democratic Movement (, MDB) is a Brazilian political party.
