Jon Bakero Escudero (born 16 July 1971) is a Spanish former professional association football, footballer who played as a Forward (association football), forward. He appeared in 153 Segunda División matches over six seasons, scoring a total of 35 goals for FC Barcelona Atlètic, Barcelona B, UD Almería, Almería and Universidad de Las Palmas CF, Universidad de Las Palmas. Club career Bakero was born in Goizueta, Navarre. He was a product of Real Sociedad's youth system, spending his first three seasons as a senior with Real Sociedad B, their reserves in the Segunda División B. In 1992, Bakero signed with FC Barcelona, being assigned to FC Barcelona Atlètic, the B team in the Segunda División. In association football, a substitute is a player who is brought on to the pitch during a match in exchange for an existing player. Substitutions are generally made to replace a player who has become tired or injured, or who is performing poorly, or for tactical reasons (such as bringing a striker on in place of a defender). A player who has been substituted during a match takes no further part in the game, in games played under the standard International Football Association Board Laws of the Game. José María Bakero Escudero (born 11 February 1963) is a Spanish former professional footballer, and a manager. Having played mainly for Real Sociedad and Barcelona, he began his career as a forward (not being a prolific goalscorer) but was converted into an attacking midfielder, who possessed passing and scoring ability (with both his right foot and his head, the second despite his short stature) and great leadership skills. During a 17-year professional career, he amassed La Liga totals of 483 games and 139 goals, winning a total of 17 titles. Miniestadi (, meaning in English "Mini Stadium"), officially named "Miniestadi", was a football stadium in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain.
