Johnny Kelly
Johnny Kelly (born March 9, 1968) is an American musician, best known as the former drummer of gothic metal band Type O Negative. He is the current drummer for the bands Silvertomb, Kill Devil Hill, Eyeam, Danzig, and Quiet Riot. Career Kelly joined Type O Negative in 1994 to replace Sal Abruscato. During an online interview, Kelly denied the oft-claimed rumour he had previously been the band's drum tech. Kelly recorded the albums '' October Rust'' (1996), '' World Coming Down'' (1999), '' Life is Killing Me'' (2003), and '' Dead Again'' (2007) with the band, as well as the Black Sabbath cover "Paranoid" included as a bonus track on the reissue of the band's second album '' The Origin of the Feces'' (1994). Kelly served as a fill-in drummer for heavy metal band Pist.On on an American tour while their drummer, Jeff McManus, dealt with chronic muscle pain. La Cigale
La Cigale (; English: ''The Cicada'') is a theatre located at 120, boulevard de Rochechouart near Place Pigalle, in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. The theatre is part of a complex connected to the Boule Noire. The hall can accommodate 1,389 people standing or 954 seated. The orchestra floor has a scalable platform that can tilt and rise using a hydraulic system. The Inrockuptibles music festival took place at La Cigale for over twenty years. Will Hunt
William Hunt (born September 5, 1971) is an American drummer. He has been a member of rock band Evanescence since 2007, and has also played for Skrape, Dark New Day, Black Label Society, Vasco Rossi, Device, Crossfade, Staind, Static-X, Slaughter, and Godsmack. Career He looks up to Tommy Lee, John Bonham, Peter Criss, Abe Cunningham, and Stewart Copeland as his influences to his drumming. One of Hunt's earliest bands was Axe Attack, formed during 1988 in Tallahassee, Florida. He was also the second drummer in Tallahassee band Witt's End, a cover band that played several club gigs. This was the first band for all the members of Witt's End that earned them a living, making it the first professional band for all of them. Amongst sitting in with other local North Florida bands, he was also in the band Eli and recorded ''Push It Hard'' in 1990. ''The Origin of the Feces'' is the second studio album by the American gothic metal band Type O Negative, released in 1992. Recording and production The album was recorded in a studio but produced to sound "live" by adding crowd noises, banter with the fictitious audience, and even a song stopping because the venue supposedly had received a bomb threat. This was done to simulate the controversy the band faced during the European leg of their '' Slow, Deep and Hard'' tour. The band is known among fans for weaving this type of humor into their often gloomy music. Album content The album is composed primarily of slightly altered, re-recorded versions of tracks that had appeared already on ''Slow, Deep and Hard''. "Paranoid" is a song by English rock band Black Sabbath, released in 1970 off the band's second studio album, ''Paranoid'' (1970). It is the first single from the album, while the B-side is the song " The Wizard". The song is widely regarded as one of the greatest heavy metal songs of all time. It reached number 4 on the UK singles chart and number 61 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100, becoming Black Sabbath's first song to place on the latter chart. ''Dead Again'' (stylized as ''DЭДD ДGДIИ'') is the seventh and final studio album by the American gothic metal band Type O Negative, released before the death of frontman Peter Steele in 2010, and subsequent dissolution of the band. It was released on March 13, 2007, through record label Steamhammer, a subsidiary of SPV. Recording The band used studio drums instead of a drum machine for the first time since their third album, ''Bloody Kisses''. ''World Coming Down'' is the fifth studio album by the American gothic metal band Type O Negative. Released on September 21, 1999, it is considered to be the darkest of the band's releases, having been written after a series of deaths in frontman Peter Steele's family, combined with the desire to break away from the sexually charged themes of the previous albums. It was also the band's first album to reach the Top 40 on the Billboard 200. Music and lyrics As with the band's previous album, '' October Rust'', this album also has a 'joke intro': in this case, "Skip It", 11 seconds of staccato band noise meant to sound as if the listener's CD player is skipping, followed by the band's guitarist, Kenny Hickey, shouting "Sucker!" October Rust
''October Rust'' is the fourth studio album by American gothic metal band Type O Negative. It was released in 1996. This is the first album with Johnny Kelly credited as the band's drummer, although programmed drums are used on the album. ''October Rust'' has more ballads and less of the doom metal sound of previous or subsequent albums. It also features a cover of Neil Young's " Cinnamon Girl.” It is the first of the band's albums with a "joke intro"; in this case, "Bad Ground", which is 38 seconds of low-level buzzing, meant to sound as if one or more audio leads is incorrectly plugged into the input jacks of an amplifier. Tracks 2 and 15 are humorous untitled spoken word intros and outros to the album, respectively, with the band downplaying the recording of the album. Another production technique employed on the album is the use of very abrupt endings and segues to a few of the songs, heard on the tracks "Green Man", "Red Water", and "Haunted".
