John Kenneth Jamieson
John Kenneth Jamieson (28 August 1910 – 26 September 1999) was a Canadian-American engineer and oilman. Jamieson served from 1963 to 1964 as the president of Humble Oil, and from 1965 to 1969 as president and 1969 to 1975 as chairman of Exxon. History Of ExxonMobil
ExxonMobil, an American multinational Petroleum industry, oil and gas corporation presently based out of Texas, has had one of the longest histories of any company in its industry. A Successors of Standard Oil, direct descendant of John D. Rockefeller's Standard Oil, the company traces its roots as far back as 1866 to the founding of the Vacuum Oil Company, which would become part of ExxonMobil through its own merger with Mobil during the 1930s. The present name of the company comes from a 1999 merger of Standard Oil's New Jersey and New York successors, which adopted the names Exxon and Mobil respectively throughout the middle of the 20th century. Michael Lawrence Haider
Michael Lawrence Haider (October 1, 1904 – August 14, 1986) was an American petroleum engineer, business executive, and a founder of the National Academy of Engineering. He was chairman of what later became Exxon Corporation from 1965 to 1969. Life and career Haider was born on a wheat farm in Mandan, North Dakota, moved to California as a teenager, and in 1927 received his B.A. in chemistry from Stanford University. In 1929 he started his career in Tulsa, Oklahoma, as a chemical engineer with Carter Oil (an affiliate of Standard Oil of New Jersey, later Exxon). One early assignment was to check the quality of helium for dirigibles. He became chief petroleum engineer and then managed all engineering for Carter. Humble Oil and Refining Co. was an American oil company founded in 1911 in Humble, Texas. In 1919, a 50% interest in Humble was acquired by the Standard Oil of New Jersey which acquired the rest of the company in September 1959.
