Johan Deysel
Johan Deysel (born 26 September 1991) is a Namibian professional rugby union player who plays as a centre for Pro D2 club Colomiers and captains the Namibia national team. Early life Deysel was born in Windhoek, Namibia. At high school level, he represented Namibia at South African youth weeks, playing at the 2008 Under-18 Academy Week held in George and at the 2009 Under-18 Craven Week held in East London. After high school, he moved to South Africa to enroll at the Potchefstroom Campus of the North-West University. He joined the Potchefstroom-based rugby union and represented them in the Under-21 Provincial Championship in 2011 and 2012, as well as playing for university side in the Varsity Cup competition. Namibia National Rugby Union Team
The Namibia national rugby union team (nicknamed the Welwitschias) represents Namibia in men's international rugby union competitions. The North-West University (NWU) is a public research university located on three campuses in Potchefstroom, Mahikeng and Vanderbijlpark in South Africa. 2015 Vodacom Cup
The 2015 Vodacom Cup was contested from 6 March to 30 May 2015. The tournament was the 18th edition of the Vodacom Cup, an annual domestic South African rugby union competition, and was played between the fourteen provincial teams in South Africa, as well as the and Namibian side . South African Rugby Union
The South African Rugby Union (SARU) is the governing body for rugby union in South Africa and is affiliated to World Rugby. It was established in 1992 as the South African Rugby Football Union, from the merger of the South African Rugby Board and the non-racial South African Rugby Union (SACOS), and took up its current name in 2005. SARU organises several national teams, most notably the senior national side, the ''South Africa national rugby union team, Springboks''. Welkom () is a city in the Free State (province), Free State province of South Africa, located about northeast of Bloemfontein, the provincial capital. Welkom is also known as Circle City, City Within A Garden, Mvela and Matjhabeng. Varsity Cup
Varsity Cup is the collective name for four South African rugby union competitions involving the top rugby playing universities in the country. It was launched in 2008, with eight teams participating in the Varsity Cup competition and each university's internal champions competing in the Koshuis Rugby Championships (now known as Res Rugby). In 2011, a second tier competition called the Varsity Shield was added, increasing the number of participating universities to thirteen. A Young Guns tournament for the Under-20 side of the Varsity Cup teams was launched in 2012.
