Joe Phillips
Joe Phillips is an American artist, known for his gay-themed illustration, erotic animation, and his earlier work on superhero comic books. Early life Phillips was born in Atlanta, Georgia in 1969. He attended Northside School of the Arts, where he learned skills such as set design and designing costumes. Upon graduation he traveled to Europe where he took part in projects such as guerrilla street art. Career Comic books Upon his return to the United States, he worked on the comic book series '' Southern Knights''. His first major comic book job was penciling eight issues of the comic book '' Speed Racer'' for NOW Comics, starting in 1988. In 1989 he took over penciling interiors and covers for DC Comics' ''Mister Miracle'' with issue #7, continuing until the series ended in 1991. He then penciled two issues of ''Wonder Woman'', filling in between retiring artist George Pérez and new regular artist Jill Thompson, and went on to produce art for DC and Marvel Comics title ... The Silver Surfer is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The character also appears in a number of movies, television, and video game adaptations. The character was created by Jack Kirby and first appeared in the comic book ''Fantastic Four (comic book), Fantastic Four'' #48, published in 1966. The Silver Surfer is a humanoid alien with metallic skin who can travel through space with the aid of his surfboard-like craft. Originally a young astronomer named Norrin Radd on the planet Zenn-La, he saved his homeworld from the planet devourer, Galactus, by serving as his herald. Imbued in return with some portion of Galactus' Power Cosmic, he acquired vast power, a new body and a surfboard-like craft on which he could travel faster than light. Green Lantern (comic Book)
''Green Lantern'' is an ongoing American comic-book series featuring the DC Comics heroes of the Green Lantern, same name. The character's first incarnation, Alan Scott, appeared in ''All-American Comics'' #16 (July 1940), and was later spun off into the first volume of ''Green Lantern'' in 1941. After 38 issues, that series was cancelled in 1949. When the Silver Age Green Lantern, Hal Jordan, was introduced, the character starred in a new volume of ''Green Lantern'' starting in 1960. Although ''Green Lantern'' is considered a mainstay in the DC Comics stable, the series has been cancelled and rebooted several times. When sales began slipping in the early 1990s, DC Comics instituted a controversial editorial mandate that turned Jordan into the supervillain Parallax (comics), Parallax and created a new protagonist named Kyle Rayner.
