Joacim Bjøreng
Joacim Ødegård Bjøreng (born 14 December 1995) is a Norwegian ski jumper. At the 2015 Nordic Junior World Ski Championships he finished seventh in the normal hill and won a gold medal in the team competition. He made his Continental Cup debut with a fourth place in December 2014 in Engelberg, and has won two events on the summer circuit; in August 2015 in Wisla and September 2016 in Lillehammer. He made his FIS Ski Jumping World Cup debut in February 2015 in Vikersund Vikersund is a town of 3,232 (in 2020) inhabitants in the municipality capital of Modum, in the county of Buskerud, Norway. Ski Jumper
Ski jumping is a winter sport in which competitors aim to achieve the farthest jump after sliding down on their skis from a specially designed curved ramp. Along with jump length, competitor's aerial style and other factors also affect the final score. Ski jumping was first contested in Norway in the late 19th century, and later spread through Europe and North America in the early 20th century. Along with cross-country skiing, it constitutes the traditional group of Nordic skiing disciplines. The ski jumping venue, commonly referred to as a ''hill'', consists of the jumping ramp (''in-run''), take-off table, and a landing hill. Each jump is evaluated according to the distance covered and the style performed. The FIS Ski Jumping World Cup is the world's highest level of ski jumping and the FIS Ski Flying World Cup as the subdivisional part of the competition. It was founded by Torbjørn Yggeseth for the 1979/80 season and organized by the International Ski Federation. Women began competing during the 2011/12 season. Vikersund is a town of 3,232 (in 2020) inhabitants in the municipality capital of Modum, in the county of Buskerud, Norway.
