Joachim Schlör
Joachim Schlör (born 1960 in Heilbronn) is a culture scientist and professor at the Parkes Institute for Jewish/non-Jewish Relations at the University of Southampton. Previously, he lectured at the University of Potsdam and was director of the network of Jewish and rabbinical studies. He is the "intellectual father" of the post graduate program there and has contributed to what is called the "spatial turn" in Jewish studies. Life Joachim Schlör worked as a volunteer with Andreas Maislinger at the Poland-department of the Action Reconciliation Service for Peace in the years 1980 and 1981. From 1993 until 1999 he has been working as scientific worker at the Moses Mendelssohn Center for European-Jewish Studies and later as assistant professor for modern history at the University of Potsdam. Heilbronn
Heilbronn () is a List of cities and towns in Germany, city in northern Baden-Württemberg, Germany, surrounded by Heilbronn (district), Heilbronn District. Andreas Maislinger (born 26 February 1955 in Sankt Georgen bei Salzburg, St. Georgen near Salzburg, Austria) is an Austrian political scientist and wiktionary:Founder, founder and former chairman of the Austrian Service Abroad. He also is the founder of the Austrian Holocaust Memorial Award, the Braunau Contemporary History Days and the inventor of the idea of the House of Responsibility. The Action Reconciliation Service for Peace is a German peace organization founded to confront the legacy of Nazism. The Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (German: Aktion Sühnezeichen Friedensdienste, or ASF) was founded in 1958 by the synod of the Evangelical Church in Germany, driven by the efforts of Lothar Kreyssig. It was prompted by the acknowledgement of guilt that Germans needed to face at the end of World War II and the Nazi era. The Action Reconciliation Service for Peace (ARSP) is known especially through its international volunteer programs and the organisation of work camps in western and eastern Europe. The Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe (, also known as the Holocaust Memorial German: ''Holocaust-Mahnmal''), is a memorial in Berlin to the Jewish victims of the Holocaust committed by Nazi Germany, designed by architect Peter Eisenman and Buro Happold. It consists of a site covered with 2,711 concrete slabs or " stelae", arranged in a grid pattern on a sloping field. The original plan was to place nearly 4,000 slabs, but after the recalculation, the number of slabs that could legally fit into the designated areas was 2,711.
