Jiří Šulc
Jiří Šulc (born 1969) is a Czech writer. After graduating from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague, he worked for the Security Information Service for fifteen years. Later he worked for the European Commission in Brussels. He currently works at the European GNSS Agency in Prague. He won the ''Book Club Literary Prize'' in 2007 for his literary debut written on the assassination of Reinhard Heydrich, the novel ''Dva proti Říši'' (literally ''Two Men Against the Empire''). He wrote his first two novels in English, translating them to Czech after not finding a publisher for them. Czech People
The Czechs (, ; singular Czech, masculine: ''Čech'' , singular feminine: ''Češka'' ), or the Czech people (), are a West Slavic ethnic group and a nation native to the Czech Republic in Central Europe, who share a common ancestry, culture, history, and the Czech language. Security Information Service
The Security Information Service (BIS, ) is the primary domestic national intelligence agency of the Czech Republic. It is responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and disseminating intelligence on threats to Czech Republic's national security, and conducting operations, covert and overt, both domestically and abroad. It also reports to and advises the Government of the Czech Republic on national security issues and situations that threaten the security of the nation. Assassination Of Reinhard Heydrich
Reinhard Heydrich, the commander of the German Reich Security Main Office (RSHA), the acting governor of the Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia and a principal architect of the Holocaust, was assassinated during the Second World War in a coordinated operation by the Czechoslovak resistance. The assassination attempt, code-named Operation Anthropoid, was carried out by resistance operatives Jozef Gabčík and Jan Kubiš on 27 May 1942. Heydrich was wounded in the attack and died of his injuries on 4 June. The operatives who carried out the assassination were soldiers of the Czechoslovak Army who were prepared and trained by the British Special Operations Executive (SOE) with the approval of the Czechoslovak government-in-exile, led by Edvard Beneš.
