Jiří Kovář
Jiří Kovář (born April 10, 1989) is an Italian volleyball player of Czech origins, a member of Italy men's national volleyball team and Turkish club Galatasaray. He was silver medalist of the European Championship 2013, bronze medalist of the World League 2014, and triple Italian Champion (2012, 2014 and 2017). Career Clubs In 2014 won a title of Italian Champion after winning matches against Sir Safety Perugia. On October 15, 2014 Lube Banca Macerata, including Kovář, won their first trophy of the 2014/2015 season. The Macerata club beat Copra Elior Piacenza (3-2) and won Italian SuperCup2014. Galatasaray 12 July 2024, signed a 1-year contract with Galatasaray. Galatasaray club said goodbye to the player on May 12, 2025, by publishing a thank you message. Italy Men's National Volleyball Team
The Italy men's national volleyball team represents the country in international competitions and friendly matches. The national team is controlled by the Italian Volleyball Federation, the governing body for Volleyball in Italy. It is one of the most successful national teams in the history of volleyball, having won four World Championships ( 1990, 1994, 1998 and 2022), seven European Championships, one World Cup (1995) and eight World League (1990, 1991, 1992, 1994, 1995, 1997, 1999 and 2000). CEV Champions League
The CEV Champions League is the top official competition for men's volleyball clubs from the whole of Europe. The competition is organised every year by the European Volleyball Confederation. Formula (2018–19 to present) Qualification A total of 20 teams participate in the main competition, with 18 teams being allocated direct vacancies on the basis of ranking list for European Cup Competitions, and 2 teams from the qualification rounds. League round 20 teams take part in the League round where they are split into 5 groups. The 2017 FIVB Men's Club World Championship was the 13th edition of the tournament. It was held in Poland for the first time from 12 to 17 December 2017. Eight teams competed in the tournament, including two wild cards. Russia's Zenit Kazan defeated Italy's Cucine Lube Civitanova in the final and won the title for the first time. 2014 FIVB Men's World Championship
The 2014 FIVB Men's Volleyball World Championship was held in Poland from 30 August to 21 September 2014. The tournament featured 24 teams to determine the world champions in men's volleyball. In addition to the host nation Poland, 23 teams qualified for the tournament through continental and regional competitions. The matches took place in seven venues across seven Polish cities, with the final being played at Spodek, Katowice. The tournament was won by the hosts Poland, who beat Brazil (who had won the previous three titles) in the final. Pallavolo Piacenza
Volley Piacenza was an Italian professional men's volleyball club based in Piacenza, northern Italy. They played in the Italian Volleyball League. The club ceased to exist in 2018 due to financial problems.
