Jesús Fernández (basketball)
Jesús Fernández Hernández (born August 6, 1975, in Villena, Alicante) is a Spanish basketball player, playing the power forward position. Fernández spent all his career between Liga ACB and LEB Oro, with the exception of one year in Mexico. He decided to retire in May 2015, after promoting with Fundación CB Granada to LEB Plata, but finally continued playing in the debut of the team in the third tier. Power Forward (basketball)
The power forward (PF), also known as the four, is one of the five traditional Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. Traditionally, power forwards have played a role similar to center (basketball), centers and are typically the tallest or second tallest player on the court. During an offensive possession, the power forward typically plays with their backs toward the basket and are typically a "go-to" position in regard to scoring in the Post (basketball), post. In a pick and roll offense, the power forward typically sets a screen for a guard and "rolls" towards the basket to receive a pass (or "pops" towards the perimeter for an open shot). Basketball At The Mediterranean Games
Basketball at the Mediterranean Games has been played consistently since 1951 for men, and 1987 for women. The Yugoslavia national team, which disbanded in 1992, was the most successful men's team, while the Croatia women's national team has been the most successful in the women's competition.
