Jesús Eduardo Amaral
Jesús Eduardo Amaral FAIA (1927 – September 9, 2020) was a Puerto Rican architect and educator. As partner in the firm Amaral y Morales, he produced some of Puerto Rico's most notable modern architecture primarily from 1950 to 1970. He was the founder and first head of the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico (1966–1969). Amaral was born in 1927 in Humacao, Puerto Rico. He studied civil engineering (1948) and architecture (1951) at Cornell University College of Architecture, Art, and Planning in Ithaca, NY. With architect Efrer Morales (1928–1992) he formed Amaral y Morales (1956–1969), one of Puerto Rico's pioneering modern firms. In 1966 he founded the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico, the island's first architecture school. Andrés Mignucci
Andrés Mignucci Giannoni FAIA (December 17, 1957 – November 21, 2022) was a Puerto Rico, Puerto Rican architect and urbanist of Corsicans, Corsican ancestry. His work received recognition for its integration of the disciplines of architecture, urban design and landscape architecture in the creation of public spaces with a sense of place, human scale, and environmental responsibility. In 2005 Andrés Mignucci was elected to the College of Fellows of the American Institute of Architects. In 2012, he was awarded the Henry Klumb Award by the Puerto Rico College of Architects. In 2019, Mignucci received the Distinguished Professor Award by the Association of Collegiate Schools of Architecture, and was named Arts and Literary Arts Scholar in Residence at the Rockefeller Foundation's Bellagio Center in Bellagio, Italy. Henry Klumb
Heinrich Klumb (1905 in Cologne, Germany – 1984 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) was a German architect who worked in Puerto Rico during the mid 20th Century. Education and early life Klumb was born in Cologne, Germany, in 1905. An honors graduate of the Staatliche Bauschule School of Architecture in Cologne in 1926, his design education in Germany was influenced by the Deutsche Werkbund school, a fine arts program developed by German architect Herman Muthesius. Klumb emigrated to the United States in 1927, at the age of 22. He served as one of Frank Lloyd Wright's first apprentices (1929–1933) at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin. While under Wright's apprenticeship, Klumb worked on the design of the Ocotillo Desert Camp near Phoenix, and led the exhibition of Wright's work in Europe in 1931. Humacao () is a Humacao barrio-pueblo, city and Municipalities of Puerto Rico, municipality in Puerto Rico located in the eastern coast of the island, north of Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, Yabucoa; south of Naguabo, Puerto Rico, Naguabo; east of Las Piedras, Puerto Rico, Las Piedras; and west of Vieques, Puerto Rico, Vieques Passage.
