Jerrabomberra is a suburb of Queanbeyan in south eastern New South Wales, Australia. Jerrabomberra consists of three sections, The Park, The Heights, and Lakeview. The Park and the Heights are divided by Edwin Land Parkway. At the , it had 9,601 people, up from 9,508 in 2016, 9,420 in 2011, and 8,747 in 2006. Jerrabomberra is derived from the local Aboriginal place name meaning "boy frightened by storm". "Jerrabomberra", an area of what was then called the Limestone Plains, was purchased by John Palmer in 1827, and settled the following year. John Palmer had been a purser on the " Sirius" in the First Fleet. The area was brought to his attention because he was a brother-in-law of Robert Campbell at " Duntroon", a property about nine miles (14 km) to the north east. Queanbeyan ( ) is a city in the south-eastern region of New South Wales, Australia, located adjacent to the Australian Capital Territory in the Southern Tablelands region. Nichole Lorraine Overall is an Australian politician. She was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly at the 2022 Monaro state by-election. Overall studied communications at the University of Canberra before working as a journalist for the Tumut and Adelong Times. She later ran a business in Queanbeyan. The 2020 Eden-Monaro by-election was held on 4 July 2020 to elect the next Member of the Australian Parliament for the division of Eden-Monaro in the House of Representatives. The by-election was triggered following the resignation of incumbent Labor MP Mike Kelly. Kelly resigned on 30 April 2020, citing ill health. The poll occurred amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, and was the first by-election of the 46th Parliament of Australia. Kristy Louise McBain (born 29 September 1982) is an Australian politician. She currently represents the division of Eden-Monaro, and is the Minister for Regional Development, Local Government and Territories. Personal life McBain was born in Traralgon, Victoria. Her family moved to the Bega Valley in the 1990s and ran a small sporting store in Merimbula. McBain attended Eden Marine High School, before completing a double degree in Law/Communications at the University of Canberra. Colonel Michael Joseph Kelly, (born 23 February 1960) is a former Australian politician who twice represented the Division of Eden-Monaro in the Parliament of Australia, from 2007 to 2013 and again from 2016 to 2020. He is a member of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). Kelly was born in Adelaide and studied law at Macquarie University before joining the Australian Army in 1987.
