Jeppe På Bjerget (1933 Film)
''Jeppe på bjerget'' (English: ''Jeppe on the Hill'' or ''Jeppe of the Hill'') is a Norwegian film from 1933 based on Ludvig Holberg's play '' Jeppe på bjerget.'' The film was directed by Per Aabel and Harry Ivarson. Per's father Hauk Aabel played the starring role as Jeppe; it has been extremely unusual in Norwegian cinema for a son to direct a film with his father in a leading role. The film was produced by Leif Sinding, the sets were designed by Egil Sætren, and Fritz Gebhardt was responsible for the sound recording. Plot Jeppe is a poor farmer who drinks too much. His wife, Nille, is strict and often beats him with a stick called "Master Erik." One day it is market day, and Nille tells Jeppe that he must buy two pounds of green soap. On the way, Jeppe visits the cobbler Jacob, hoping he will give him a shilling of liquor on credit. Leif Juster
Leif Juster (born Leif Normann Nilsen) (14 February 1910 – 25 November 1995) was a Norwegian comedian, singer and actor, arguably the most popular of his generation in Norway. Juster started out as a variety show performer, and for a period he ran the theater ''Edderkoppen''. Characterised by his unusually tall, lanky figure and squeeky voice, his signature act was the monologue "''Mot normalt''". Inga Kristine "Nanna" Stenersen (January 26, 1914 – June 22, 1977) was a Norwegian actress. Stenersen was born in Oslo, the daughter of the artillery captain Fredrik Christian Krohg Stenersen (1877–1965) and Regine née Johansen (1878–?). She debuted in 1933 at the Carl Johan Theater (''Carl Johan Teatret'') and later worked for the Central Theater and Oslo New Theater. Stenersen performed in revues, comedies, and operettas. She also appeared as a wise judge of human character in more serious roles, but she is best remembered for her appearances in Norwegian films. She died in Oslo in 1977. Thorleif Dymling Reiss (May 22, 1898 – April 14, 1988) was a Norwegian actor. Career Reiss made his debut at the National Theater in Oslo in 1918. From 1931 to 1939, he was employed at the Carl Johan Theater, where he also served as co-director. From 1942 onward he was employed at the New Theater. Family Reiss was the son of the lawyer, composer, and musicologist Georg Reiss and Elisabeth Dymling (1861–1920). He was the brother of the pianist and cabaret performer Elisabeth Reiss and the father of the actor Helge Reiss. He played opposite his son in the 1970 crime comedy ''Skulle det dukke opp flere lik er det bare å ringe''. His first marriage was in 1920 to Esther Colbjørnsen Dahl (1896–1941).
