Jeffrey Paul "Jeph" Jacques ( ) (born June 17, 1980) is an American-Canadian cartoonist who writes and draws the webcomic '' Questionable Content''. Jacques has formerly created the webcomics ''indietits,'' ''Derelict Orbital Reflector Devices'' and '' Alice Grove''. Personal life Jacques was born in Rockville, Maryland, and was later adopted. He has a younger brother named Justin. Jacques lived near Northampton, Massachusetts, where ''Questionable Content'' is set; in 2015, he moved to Halifax, Nova Scotia. Jacques graduated from Hampshire College with a degree in music. He was married to his business manager Cristi until their amicable separation in 2014. Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards
The Web Cartoonists' Choice Awards (WCCA) were annual awards in which established webcartoonists nominated and selected outstanding webcomics. The awards were held between 2001 and 2008, were mentioned in a ''New York Times'' column on webcomics in 2005, and have been mentioned as a tool for librarians. History The WCCA represent a form of peer recognition, with voting rights granted only to creators working on online webcomics. Winners of awards receive an individualized web banner for their site, although MegaCon announced in 2007 that a live presentation would be made for the first time. In 2003, 2005 and 2006 the awards were presented in an online ceremony depicted in comic strip form and involving a number of creators. Albacon is the Albany science fiction convention, held each year in the Albany, New York area, also called the Capital District. Albacon is the largest "Con" in upstate New York, United States. Low (band)
Low was an American indie rock band from Duluth, Minnesota, formed in 1993 by Alan Sparhawk (guitar and vocals) and Mimi Parker (drums and vocals). The band was a trio from 1993 to 2020, having featured four different bassists. Low disbanded following the death of Parker in 2022. The music of Low was characterized by slow tempos and minimalist music, minimalist arrangements.
