Jena Irene Asciutto ( ; born July 13, 1996), also known mononymously as Jena Irene, is an American singer-songwriter who first came to prominence in 2014 as the runner-up on the thirteenth season of ''American Idol''. Asciutto became the first female Wild Card contestant of the series to qualify into the finale and became the second Wild Card contestant, after Clay Aiken in the second season, to make it into the finale. In April 2015, she signed a long-term recording deal with the independent Detroit label Original 1265 Recordings. Asciutto released her debut EP, '' Innocence'', on April 22, 2016, which was followed by her debut album, ''Cold Fame'', on June 2, 2017. Early life Jena Irene Asciutto was born in Farmington Hills, Michigan, on July 13, 1996, to Julie () and George Asciutto. She graduated from North Farmington High School on June 8, 2014. Thomas Nitzsche
Thomas Nitzsche (born 1 December 1975 in Zeulenroda-Triebes, Zeulenroda) is a German politician (Free Democratic Party of Germany, FDP) and the Mayor of Jena since 1 July 2018. Career Nitzsche attended the Hubert Westhoff Polytechnic High School in Zeulenroda from 1982 to 1991, and the Carl-Zeiss-Gymnasium in Jena from 1991 until achieving his Abitur in 1994. In 1995, he began studies in English and political science at the University of Jena, Friedrich Schiller University of Jena. He remained in Jena until graduation, apart from a year in Glasgow and a quarter-term in Salamanca. While at FSU Jena, Nitzsche was a research assistant to Klaus Dicke, later Rector of the university. For his graduate thesis in 2007, he wrote about the Spanish liberal politician Salvador de Madariaga.
