Jefes de Ciudad Juárez (English: ''Ciudad Juárez Chiefs'') are an American football team based in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico. The Jefes compete in the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico, after playing its inaugural season in the Fútbol Americano de México league. The team plays its home games at the Estadio 20 de Noviembre, with a capacity of 5,000 seated spectators. History On 18 March 2022, the team was presented at a press conference in Ciudad Juárez as an expansion team in the Fútbol Americano de México (FAM) league, with César Durán as the owner and president and David Silva as its first head coach. The inaugural 48-man roster was revealed the following month and included 16 foreign players, all with NCAA Division I or Division II experience. Mexican American Football ('', FAM'') was a professional American football minor league in Mexico, founded in 2018. Due to sponsorship reasons, the league was also known as FAM-YOX for the 2022 season. Starting with five teams, the FAM expanded to seven members in 2020 and nine members in 2022 in the cities of Cancún, Chihuahua, Ciudad Juárez, Jalisco, Mexico City, Monterrey, Naucalpan, San José del Cabo and Zapopan. Seantavius Jones (born August 9, 1992) is an American professional football wide receiver for the Jefes de Ciudad Juárez of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA). The 2024 LFA season was the ninth season of operation (eighth season of play) of the Liga de Fútbol Americano Profesional (LFA), the top American football league in Mexico. The regular season began on 1 March and ended on 6 June with the Caudillos de Chihuahua defeating the Raptors de Naucalpanin the Tazón México VII in Querétaro City for their second consecutive league championship. Preseason events Draft The LFA Draft was held on January 13. There were a total of 108 picks, with the Jefes selecting Alonso Gaxiola from Borregos Monterrey with the first overall pick.
