Jedha
The fictional universe of the ''Star Wars'' franchise features multiple planets and moons. While only the feature films and selected other works are considered canon to the franchise since the 2012 acquisition of Lucasfilm by The Walt Disney Company, some canon planets were first named or explored in works from the non-canon ''Star Wars'' expanded universe, now rebranded as ''Star Wars Legends''. In the theatrical ''Star Wars'' films, many scenes set on these planets and moons were filmed on location rather than on a sound stage. For example, the resort city of Canto Bight located on the planet Cantonica, seen in '' Star Wars: The Last Jedi'' (2017), was filmed in Dubrovnik, Croatia. ''Star Wars'' canon astrography The ''Star Wars'' galaxy contains several broad sub-regions. Their exact definitions fluctuated somewhat during the ''Legends'' continuity, but were later formally updated by the new canon continuity when Disney purchased Lucasfilm. The new canon map is ...

Most locations were used to shoot principal photography with actors; more recently as digital filmmaking has become more common, some prequel and sequel trilogy locations were shot with no actors present and digitally compositing, composited into the films to provide a backdrop of a story setting. In addition to filming locations, a list of film studios is also included for reference. Locations Listed below are locations used for filming of the following ''Star Wars'' films and series: *''Star Wars (film), Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope'' (1977) *''Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back'' (1980) *''Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi'' (1983) *''Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace'' (1999) *''Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones'' (2002) *''Star Wars: Epi ...

Coruscant
Coruscant () is an ecumenopolis planet in the fictional universe of ''Star Wars.'' It was first described in Timothy Zahn's 1991 novel '' Heir to the Empire.'' The planet made its first on-screen appearance in a scene added to '' Return of the Jedi'' for its 1997 re-release. It has since become an important location in the ''Star Wars'' universe and appears frequently in ''Star Wars'' media. In-universe, Coruscant is a politically and strategically important planet, serving as the capital and seat of government for the Republic and the Galactic Empire, as well as the headquarters of the Jedi Order. It is depicted as a bustling, yet highly stratified planet-spanning metropolis. Throughout the city's centuries-long development, new city blocks were built on top of old ones, forming levels. Coruscant has 5127 levels, with the top being the wealthiest and the lowest being the poorest. Coruscant has four moons and is the sixth planet out of the eleven that make up the system o ...

Chott El Djerid - Lars Homestead
In geology, a chott, shott, or shatt (; ) is a salt lake in Africa's Maghreb that stays dry for much of the year but receives some water in the winter. The elevation of a chott surface is controlled by the position of the water table and capillary fringe, with sediment deflation occurring when the water table falls and sediment accumulation occurring when the water table rises.Swezey, C.S., 2003, The role of climate in the creation and destruction of continental stratigraphic records: An example from the northern margin of the Sahara Desert, in Cecil, C.B., and Edgar, N.T., eds., Climate Controls on Stratigraphy: SEPM (Society for Sedimentary Geology) Special Publication 77, p. 207-225. They are formed—within variable shores—by the spring thaw from the Atlas mountain range, along with occasional rainwater or groundwater sources in the Sahara, such as the Bas Saharan Basin. Water sources The chotts of the Sahara are fed intermittently during periods of infrequent rainf ...

Supermassive Black Hole
A supermassive black hole (SMBH or sometimes SBH) is the largest type of black hole, with its mass being on the order of hundreds of thousands, or millions to billions, of times the mass of the Sun (). Black holes are a class of astronomical objects that have undergone gravitational collapse, leaving behind spheroidal regions of space from which nothing can escape, including light. Observational evidence indicates that almost every large galaxy has a supermassive black hole at its center. For example, the Milky Way galaxy has a supermassive black hole at its center, corresponding to the radio source Sagittarius A*. Accretion of interstellar gas onto supermassive black holes is the process responsible for powering active galactic nuclei (AGNs) and quasars. Two supermassive black holes have been directly imaged by the Event Horizon Telescope: the black hole in the giant elliptical galaxy Messier 87 and the black hole at the Milky Way's center (Sagittarius A*). The moon was the site of a pivotal battle depicted in '' Return of the Jedi''. It is the homeworld of the sentient Dulok, Ewok, and Yuzzum species, as well as the semi-sentient Gorax and Wistie species. The Endor solar cycle is 402 GSC days orbital, with a breathable earth-like atmosphere conducive for humans, 85% Standard Gravity and 8% surface water. It is where Darth Vader's funeral is held. The moon orbits Tana—the Ewokese word for Endor's host planet—a gas giant located in the Endor system, a star system positioned in the Moddell sector of the galaxy's Outer Rim Territories. Located in grid square H-16 on the Standard Galactic Grid, it was connected to Cerea and Bakura by a hyperspace route. Other nearby planets in the H-16 sector include Rattatak, Bunduki, Tirracles, Ponemah, and Firrerre. Th ...

Both appear in ''The Empire Strikes Back''.
