Karine Jean-Pierre (born August 13, 1974) is an American political advisor who served as the White House Press Secretary, White House press secretary from May 2022 to January 2025, and a senior advisor to President Joe Biden from October 2024 to January 2025. She is the first African Americans, black person and the first openly LGBTQ person to serve in the position of White House press secretary. Previously, she served as the White House Deputy Press Secretary, deputy press secretary to her predecessor Jen Psaki from 2021 to 2022 and as the chief of staff for U.S. vice presidential candidate Kamala Harris during the 2020 United States presidential election, 2020 presidential campaign.
