Jean-Marc Brûlé
Jean-Marc Brûlé (16 June 1965 – 25 November 2023) was a French politician of Europe Ecology–The Greens, Regional Council (France), Regional Councillor of Île-de-France. Founder of the Asian Committee of The Greens (France), The Greens, he was chairman of L'Atelier, a regional resource center of the social economy and was a national secretary-assistant of Europe Écologie in charge of elections and institutions. Brûlé died in Brittany on 25 November 2023 at the age of 58. The Regional Council of Île-de-France () is the regional council of Île-de-France, France's most populous administrative region. Made up of 209 regional councillors elected for 6 years, it is headquartered in Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, just north of Paris. The council has been presided over since 18 December 2015 by Valérie Pécresse. She succeeded Jean-Paul Huchon, who had presided over the council since 23 March 1998. Europe Ecology () was a green electoral coalition of political parties in France created for the 2009 European elections composed of The Greens and other ecologists and regionalists. The coalition was launched on 20 October 2008 with the support of the European Green Party and Daniel Cohn-Bendit, a Franco-German MEP previously representing the Alliance '90/The Greens of Germany, but who ran in France in 2009. A regional council () is the elected assembly of a regions of France, region of France. History Regional councils were created by law on 5 July 1972. Originally they were simply consultative bodies consisting of the region's parliamentary representatives plus an equal number of members nominated by the Departments of France, departments and Communes of France, communes.
