Jean-François Humbert
Jean-François Humbert (born 17 October 1952) is a French politician and a member of the Senate of France. He represents the Doubs department and is a member of the Union for a Popular Movement Party. In the 2004 Franche-Comté regional election, he solicited reelection as President of Franche-Comté but was defeated by Socialist Raymond Forni. On 21 September 2008 he was narrowly reelected as Senator. On 17 October 2009 he announced that he would challenge Socialist President Marie-Marguerite Dufay and UMP candidate Alain Joyandet in the 2010 Franche-Comté regional election. The 14th Dalai Lama (spiritual name Jetsun Jamphel Ngawang Lobsang Yeshe Tenzin Gyatso, known as Tenzin Gyatso (Tibetan: བསྟན་འཛིན་རྒྱ་མཚོ་, Wylie: ''bsTan-'dzin rgya-mtsho''); né Lhamo Thondup), known as Gyalwa Rinpoche to the Tibetan people, is the current Dalai Lama. Alain Joyandet (born 15 January 1954) is a French politician who was appointed Secretary of State for Cooperation and Francophony in the government of François Fillon from 18 March 2008 to July 2010. Prior to that, he was CEO of the Société Nouvelle des Éditions Comtoises (SNEC), a publisher of weekly newspapers and journals. He is a journalist by training. He has been mayor of Vesoul since 1995 and senator of Franche-Comté from 1995 to 2002. Marie-Marguerite Dufay, best known as Marie-Guite Dufay (born 21 May 1949), is a French politician of the Socialist Party (PS) who serves as president of the regional council of Bourgogne-Franche-Comté. Political career Dufay was first elected to the Besançon city council in 1989. Six years later, she was appointed as deputy mayor of Besançon (1995 to 2008).
